The belt screen is intended for removal of mechanical coarsely dispersed impurities from wastewaters, sludge thickening and preliminary densifying of trapped products.
Compact design allows to significantly reduce the volume of the plants, occupied areas and thus also reduces the capital costs for construction and service. It is manufactured of polymer materials and stainless steel that ensures a service life of more than 30 years.
The belt screens are widely used in the industrial sectors, where it is needed to treat wastewater from suspended solids and nondissolved organic impurities. It is a viable and cost-effective solution for preliminary treatment of effluents before the further treatment or disposal.

Technology
Wastewaters are supplied to the input tray before the belt screen. Treatment of wastes occurs in the filtration process through a semi-immersed rotating «endless» belt, stretched between several cylindrical rolls. Due to movement of the belt occurs removal of the entrapped impurities from the filtration area with the subsequent treatment with a scraper, blowing with compressed air and flushing. Mechanically treated effluent is removed through the exit branch. Entrapped impurities are discharged into the screw with the wringing device and then dumped into a waste container or discharged into a waste container at once.
Fields of application
Paper and paperboard industry. The belt screen is used to treat wastewaters from fibrous particles and to return them to the production process and also to reduce the volume of the sediment that is sent for disposal.
Treatment of domestic wastewaters. The belt screen is installed at the entrance to the treatment plants. It increases the effectiveness of the preliminary mechanical treatment without adding reactants.
In the water intakes of surface waters for domestic and industrial purposes as a preliminary filtration device.
Meat and poultry processing industry for mechanical preliminary treatment of wastewaters in slaughterhouses, for pretreatment of waters after giblets washing and processing of poultry in the pluckers.
Leather industry. There is a preliminary treatment of high-concentrated and highly-toxic wastewaters that may contain proteins, albumins, hair, blood, grease etc.
Fish processing industry and systems for continuous water filtration of fish farms. Entrapping of fishes wastes and uneaten feed-stuff.
Fruits and vegetables processing. Preliminary treatment of wastewaters from high content of suspended solids, BOD, COD which are specific to this industry.
Breweries. Removal of dissolved and fibrous substances from wastewaters that significantly increase BOD and COD. Sludge is prepared preliminary for its further processing.
Plastics processing. In recirculation systems of treatment of water for plastics washing.
Other industries where the load for further treatment plants has to be reduced.
