Storm, industrial-storm and oily wastewater treatment plant Crystall-R

The plant Crystall-R is meant for treatment of storm and melt wastewater of residential and industrial areas, parking lots and fuel filling station areas. Depending on local conditions and individual characteristics of each particular facility, the plants can be either of underground or land design.

Plant Crystall-R-P of underground design

They are manufactured as a complex of polymer tanks. Underground design allows to locate the plant in every landscape. Three processes are put at the core of the technological scheme: gravitational settling of coarsely dispersed suspended solids, coalescence of non-emulsifying oil products, sorption of finely dispersed suspended solids and emulsifying oil products.

Storm and melt wastewater is supplied to the sand separator unit, in which separation of suspended solids with the density of 1500 kg/m3 and more occurs. Then the preliminary clarified water flows to the coalescing unit, in which release of non-emulsifying oil products and their detention in the upper space of the unit occur. After the coalescing unit, clarified water flows to the sorption unit for tertiary treatment, in which residual concentrations of suspended solids and emulsifying oil are removed from water by means of sorption filters.   

Acceptable concentration at the input of the plant:
  • suspended solids – 600 mg/liter
  • oil products – up to 70 mg/liter

Treatment quality*:

  • suspended solids - 10 mg/liter
  • oil products - 0.3 (0.05) mg/liter
  • Treatment quality is specified by calculation after choosing a particular technological scheme.

If these concentrations are exceeded, the technological scheme and equipment composition are chosen individually at the request of manufactory specialists.


The plant Crystall-R-P does not require constant presence of maintenance staff. During plant operation, one should take care of well-timed emptying of the storage tank for collection of floating oil products (after rain). When the oil products detector is stuck upstream of the sorption filter, it should be treated with a detergent. 2 times a year or if concentrations of pollutants at the input to the plant are exceeded, filter coalescing material in the settling zone should be cleaned or replaced. Sludge pumping should be performed when 1/3 of the working volume of the plant is reached.

Plant Crystall-R of land design

The plant Crystall-R of land design implies using of the storage tank with the following treatment in the plant. At the same time, in order to reduce the load on the basic technological equipment, it is advisable to provide primary settling of suspended solids and collection of floated oil products in the storage tank.

Depending on source water composition, two options of technological equipment of the plant can be applied.

Option 1: three-stage treatment of wastewater containing a large amount of oil products. It provides primary treatment on pressure flotators in order to remove oil products and finely dispersed suspended solids from wastewater. Tertiary treatment of residual content of oil products and suspended solids occurs at the second (sand filters) and third (carbon filters) stages. Regeneration of filters is carried out by treated water. Initial wastewater supply is provided by pumps installed in the storage tank.

Option 2: two-stage wastewater treatment. It provides wastewater treatment at sand (the first stage) and carbon (the second stage) filters. Regeneration of filters is carried out by treated water. Initial wastewater supply is provided by pumps installed in the storage tank.

All equipment is placed in container units of shipping dimensions of full factory readiness. On site, it is required to prepare only the foundation depending on local geological conditions.
